The largest Russian machine-building holding company “Concern “Tractor Plants” with the assistance of the Government of the Republic of Karelia has showed the presenta-tion “First Russian CHETRA Harvester”. The event took place on September 14, 2009 on a forest plot near Petrozavodsk.
We remind that manufacture of Silvatec harvesters started in Onezhsky Tractor Plant this year. The quality of the new machine is confirmed by an appropriate conformance cer-tificate.  The harvesting machine CHETRA 451 has all good qualitative characteristics of European machines: it’s reliable and simple to operate and maintain. This product is pre-sented in the Russian market by specialized trade company “CHETRA - Industrial machin-ery”. According to Company’s Executive Director Igor Ponomarev,  it is not first and not last innovation meant for logging operators – specialized enterprises  of Concern “Tractor Plants” have already announced manufacture of the multi-purpose wheeled short-log-track CHETRA  421. In addition to harvester and forwarder, other most in-demand equipment models are developed for logging operators.
The Deputy Prime-Minister of the Government of the Republic of Karelia, Minister of Finances Alexander Kolesov, who was in attendance at the event, expressed his thanks to top managers of Concern “Tractor Plants” for the confidence given the Karelian enterprise and wished not to be satisfied with what has already been achieved, because the region’s potential in harvesting and forest tractor building  promises well. The Minister considers that appearance of machines on basis of foreign analogs but procurable at lower prices will im-prove the economy of logging operators and, as a result, that will reduce production costs and better their economic performances.
The executive director of “Onezhsky Tractor Plant” Ltd Daniil Demakov noted that the new equipment will help to revive traditions and to set in motion all production facilities. First orders for first harvesters are already placed. By the end of the year a service&diagnostic center will be opened on the basis of the plant.

Within the bounds of the event, CHETRA Т11 dozer manufactured by “Promtractor” JSC and forest processing tracked tractor ТLТ-100А-06 for semisuspended skidding of trees and bunches manufactured by “Onezhsky Tractor Plant” Ltd were presented in field conditions.  
The presentation started new campaign for purchasing of innovative domestic equipment under CHETRA brand on terms of financial leasing worked out in partnership with “Rosagro-consulting”. That will be the next stage of realization of the plan for import-substitution by competitive products in the domestic market.
